I hope you all have enjoyed this last month’s study and our final look at the life of David this Summer, a man truly after God’s heart. As we discussed this week, David’s model of persistence is your help in crisis. Remember: (1) Continue to Trust God (2 Samuel 15:13-14, 24-26), (2) Don’t Isolate Yourself from Others (2 Samuel 15:30-37), and (3) Get Back to Living (2 Samuel 19:7-8a).

This week, we plan to take a look at relationships, and specifically, our relationship with God. What does it look like? It can be a hard thing to understand. I promised we were finished with the Book of Samuel, but this question is just like the Israelites who were looking for a king they could see here on earth. Here is the suggestion by this week’s lesson writer:

“It's through trusting Jesus and living the kind of life he taught us to live--a life of truth, love, justice, compassion, forgiveness, and sacrifice--that we have a relationship with God. Maybe the way we live every day, every single choice we make, determines how in tune with God we are.”

Michelle and I really enjoyed having you all in our home on Sunday. Those of you not able to make it, we missed you. Alright Social Committee, when’s our next date? Remember, God who created everything is still in control of His creation. Keep praying for each other, caring for each other and take care of your families. John
