Hi ladies. Please take a moment to vote on the poll on the right side of the home screen. We want to see which two nights of the week are best for the most people so that we give everyone the opportunity to join us for fellowship. We have no agenda. We just like to get together, eat yummy food, and talk...all without the guys and the kids (unless you have a little baby that we need to see)! We want to see as many ladies at these gatherings so we can get to know each other better. Thanks!
Cindy

Our Farm Tour and Gardening Advice
Hello All - I hope you are having a productive week! Several of you have asked or expressed interest in either learning more about Our Farm (my parent's natural, nutrient dense farm) or being able to get advice for improving your own backyard garden. I spoke with my parents and the only day that works for them is May 21st at 1:30pm. I realize that this is the same day as our Minute to Win It party and I apologize for that; however, this is the only day that works for them before their summer becomes hectic with the crops. My step-mom, Marie has agreed to allow those that are interested to come, tour the farm and ask questions about it or your own garden. Somethings that she could answer would be:
'What is nutrient dense?'
'Why nutrient dense over organic?'
'My tomatoes are big and leafy, but have small or no flowers. Why is that and what can I do to change that?'
'Can I grow tomatoes in a container?'
'How can I keep bugs/pests off my plants without using harmful chemicals?'
'Which corn do you suggest to plant to grow sweet corn?'
My parents also have several dairy cows which they use to sell Raw Milks and cheeses as well. You would also have the opportunity to tour and ask questions about that if you would like.
I am asking that if you are interested and would like to come, please let me know by May 18th. This way my parents will know how many people to expect so they can accomodate accordingly.
So here is the break down:
What: Farm Tour and Q&A about Our Farm and your own personal gardens
Where: Our Farm, 7604 W 51st Street, Tulsa
When: 1:30pm
If this day/time doesn't work for you, but you would still like information about Our Farm you can contact Marie at 918-445-5220.
My email to let me know if you plan on coming is: adolan3@cox.net. Thanks and have a great Mothers Day!

Minute to Win It Party
Here are the details to our next event.
What: Minute to Win It Party (check out NBC on Wednesdays at 7:00pm or go to nbc.com and under the "Shows" tab, click on "Minute to Win It".)
Where: The new Student Center. When you come in the new set of doors from the Detroit Entrance, head to your right (don't go into the main church building).
When: Saturday, May 21st from 5pm to 8pm
Who: Everyone! This is a great opportunity to invite friends!
We will have a Mexican meal. I won't call it Pot Luck because I know some people have aversions to that term! Once we figure out how many people are coming, we'll send around a sign up sheet for who will be bringing what.
Please check out the Polls section (in the upper right hand corner of the main page on the blog). There are 2 polls so please make sure you answer both. The first one is to see how many people are coming. The second one is to see how many people would be interested in hiring some teenagers from the youth group to baby sit our kids at someone's home. After checking out the area, Andrea and I decided there is no good place for the kids on site so we would need to have the kids at someone's home. Please vote yes or no for this poll so we will know if people are interested or not. After you answer the first poll, look directly under it and click on "Next Poll".
This is sure to be an exciting party!

Let's Shower them with Diapers & Wipes!
We've had two recent additions to our class. Steve & Allison Terril welcomed little Jack and Brandon & Maggie Wheeler welcomed little Emmery at the end of 2010 and we want to help them get started on this new journey. On Feb 6 (Super Bowl Sunday) we are having a diaper and wipes shower for them during our LIFE group hour. Both have requested Pampers diapers. As a recent diaper shower recipient, I would recommend that we go easy on the size 1's. Let's try to shower them with sizes 2-4 and maybe even some Pull-ups for later on. Everything helps!

Super Bowl Party
Better late than never! Here's the details for the Super Bowl Party:
Derek and Courtney have graciously opened their home for us and we will begin gathering at 5:00. You might bring a chair to sit on unless you don't mind sitting on the floor. Of course the kids are invited! As of today, there's the list of who is bringing what:
Elmores - paper goods
Dolans - mexican chili, cornbread, no bake cookes
Ingrams - mexican chili, cornbread
Jantzens - guacamole, dessert
Folks - cheese dip, crackers, chocolate chip cookies, pop
Langleys - Deer chili, veggie tray, chips & dip, cheese platter
Grizzles - buffalo dip, chips, little smokies, dessert
Bendures - fruit tray
Remkes - dessert
Everyone is invited and this is a great opportunity to invite friends! If you want to come and you're not on the list, leave a comment here to rsvp. You can also indicate if you will be bringing anything. It looks like we are good on everything, but we can never have too much food! You can also sign up in class on Sunday. I hope to see everyone there!
