Christmas Party
You are invited to dinner at Homebuilders' Christmas Party on December 3rd at the church. There will be a modest charge to cover the cost of the catered food. We will let you know that amount once we get a final count and know how much food to order. Childcare is available for babies through children in Grade 6, as part of Parent’s Night Out at the church. The cost for childcare is the donation of one new toy for the Jesus Christmas Room. Reservations are required for childcare and may be made by calling 594-5028. If you have not already responded, please let us know you can join us by this Sunday. We look forward to seeing you there.

LIFE TOGETHER: Why is it vital for me to connect to a church?
In our study this week, we look at these three points:
(1) IDENTIFY WITH THE CHURCH (ACTS 2:41-42)
41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about 3,000 people were added to them. 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers.
Learn about God, fellowship, eat and pray together.
The Greek word used in Acts 2:42 for “fellowship” is koinonia, meaning essentially a lifestyle. The word conveys a sense of communal participation in everything. Further, in some contexts, this same word is even used to refer to a tight-knit society. In essence, the word “fellowship,” as used in the text, means that the early Christians genuinely did life together. They didn’t interact with other church members only on Sunday mornings; they were actively involved in one another’s day-to-day lives. They were committed to one another, and stuck by one another in all circumstances.
(2) EXPERIENCE THE CHURCH (ACTS 2:43-47)
43 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44 Now all the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 So they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need. 46 And every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.
(3) COMMIT TO THE CHURCH (HEBREWS 10:23-25)
23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, 25 not staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
The author of our study writes:
“We should be faithful because Christ is faithful, and we should be concerned about each other because Christ is concerned with them.”
Take a moment before Thanksgiving and show someone in Homebuilders you are concerned about them (someone other than me since I know you are all concerned about me).
Remember, God who created everything is still in control of His creation. Keep praying for each other, caring for each other and take care of your families. John

Prayer Requests for the week of November 14th
Here are this week's prayer requests and praises:
PRAISES
The Terrills - Allison and Steven welcomed baby Jack on Friday evening, Nov 12th. They went home on Monday. Info soon on when they want meals to start.
Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts - The total number of boxes that I'll be taking to the Collection Center this week is 34!!!! Thanks you, thank you, thank you for your generosity!
PRAYER REQUESTS
The Dolans - Zach will see an orthopedist on Thursday morning to determine if he has torn his ACL or MCL. He will have an MRI at that time. Zach would like to be able to continue to work during the healing process. Pray that the city would be willing for him to do that. Also Tatum is home from school with pink eye. Pray she heals quickly and the rest of the family doesn't get it.
The Elmores - Brenda's purse was stolen out of her car that was in her garage. The garage door was left open for about 20 minutes and it was during that time that the thief/thieves took advantage of the opportunity. It was the third incident in the surrounding neighborhoods on Monday afternoon. Owasso has had a string of purse snatchings the last three weeks and it seems to be escalating. Pray that their want to any identify theft issues to deal with and that the police will be able to catch the people responsible for these crimes. Police believe it to be the work of a Mexican gang.
The Intemanns - Bryan and Stacey Intemann, our Poland missionaries, along with their children, Makaila and Ethan, will be returning to the States permenantly beginning in January. Please pray for the transistion for the Intemann family and also for the Poland team and Polish people they love so much.

ME AND MY STUFF: How much attention does the here and now deserve?
Just in time, before the Christmas shopping frenzy is upon us, think over this past week. What has claimed the majority of your time, attention and money? Do you ever feel like your “stuff” gets in the way? This week we will discuss how to live life in light of eternity. After all, this earthly life doesn’t last forever. We will discuss:
1. “What Life Is Not”
Read Luke 12:13-15
http://net.bible.org/passage.php?search=Luke%2012:13-15&passage=luke%2012:13-15
2. “A Lose-Lose Situation”
Read Luke 12:16-21
http://net.bible.org/passage.php?search=Luke%2012:16-21&passage=luke%2012:16-21
3. “A Win-Win Situation”
Read Philippians 1:21-26
http://net.bible.org/passage.php?search=Philippians%201:21-26&passage=philippians%201:21-26
Remember, God who created everything is still in control of His creation. Keep praying for each other, caring for each other and take care of your families. John

Langleys - Derek's grandma passed away in Siloam Springs this morning. Her funeral will be Thursday. Please pray for comfort for this family.
Gambles - Mel's great grandma is very near death. Please pray for a peaceful passing into the presence of Jesus. Pray for her family as they prepare for her death. Also little Ginny is struggling with the croup. Please pray she recovers soon.
Ingrams - Pray that Terry's young cousin, Matthew, will become involved in the youth department and that he will find someone he can connect with easily.
Zacharys - Tim transferred to his new job at the Claremore Walmart on Sunday. Pray for an easy transistion.
Dales - Please pray for Amy's cousin, 11 year old Annie, who has some kind of unexplainable illness that has taken away her ability to function normally. She is only slightly able to communicate and is unable to go to school. Also David's sister, Jenny Ely, is due to be induced on Saturday if baby Grace has not made her debut into the world. Pray for a safe delivery of a healthy baby.
Lazenbys - Tim is traveling all week. Pray for Kim as she has all the responsibility for the children and pray also that the baby doesn't decide to come early while he is away!
Terrills - Allison Terrill will be induced on Friday if baby Jack doesn't come before then. Please pray that Jack will arrive healthy and that Steven and Allison will have peace as they continue to wait.
Wheelers - Maggie is due in early December (the 3rd I think) and is on bedrest. Pray for her as she, too, patiently waits and that the baby will not come too early.
Elmores - Jim's 83 year old mom, Elizabeth, has been sick since last Wednesday but we only found out tonight. She is going to the dr tomorrow (for her to even agree to go must mean she is REALLY sick) Pray it will not be anything serious and that she'll feel better soon. She hasn't eaten much since last Wednesday.

THE ANSWER TO LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING.
Following our study in October, “Where Hope Lives,” we are continuing our study on what we believe and how to communicate it. Our study this month is “The Movement of Hope,” where we will explore what God has said about the meaning of life. In his sermons, Deron has told us he is “convinced that the meaning of life is to become like Christ.” See Romans 8:28-29.
http://net.bible.org/passage.php?search=Romans%208:28-29&passage=romans%208:28-29
For you fans of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” this is a much better answer than “42.”
This week our study is “The Intended Life: Why is the Christian life better?” Considering this question above, read this week’s study in the LIFE Matters Learner’s Guide starting on page 86 (let me know if you need a copy) and the following passages:
1. John 14:15-31; and
http://net.bible.org/passage.php?search=John%2014:15-31&passage=john%2014:15-31
2. John 15:9-17.
http://net.bible.org/passage.php?search=John%2015:9-17&passage=john%2015:9-17
Our study writer answers, “There’s God,” “There’s Peace,” and “There’s Purpose.”
Remember, God who created everything is still in control of His creation. Keep praying for each other, caring for each other and take care of your families. John
