SEEING THE DIVINE
This month we'll examine the character of God and discover what Scripture says about God's blueprint for a changed world. Finally, we'll study how to apply this knowledge and start making a difference one person at a time.
DIVINE PORTRAIT: What would a portrait of God look like?
When we see people around us from God's perspective, it will change everything we value. It will start with our own lives. When we recognize the divine portrait God is painting all around us, the very nature of our salvation and the priority of His kingdom will shape everything we do.

2. God Loves Justice, Isaiah 61:8-9

3. God Desires Righteousness, Isaiah 61:10-11

Remember, God who created everything is still in control of His creation. Keep praying for each other, caring for each other and take care of your families. John

Praises and Prayer Requests
Praise Him today for His great love for us. I'm thankful for the privilege to live in a country where I have the freedom to worship and praise Him every single day.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Dolans - Zach is going to have to have extensive physical therapy, surgery and then more physical therapy for his torn ACL. Pray for a fast recovery and that'll be able to continue to work during the PT stage of treatment.
Zacharys - Their twins, Hailey and Kolby, have a day care teacher they love that has been out since Halloween because of an investigative leave. The kids really miss her and her family is struggling because she is not working. Pray for a speedy, positive resolution.
Langleys - Courtney's sister, Chelsey, is very ill from an infection as a result of her C-section on November 1st. Please pray she will recover fully and regain her strength quickly.
Whitakers - Pray that Aaron will be able to finish the process to join the military soon. Also pray that Lynsi will be able to finish her school semester strong and find a job. Pray for their marriage to be restored.
Folks - Pray for John's co-worker's father, who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Also John asked us to pray for the Intemann family, our Poland missionaries, who will be permenantly returning to the states in January. Pray for a smooth transition for their family.
Elmores - Please pray for the Holt family, who are dear friends. Doug Holt, the father/husband, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday. He leaves a wife and three precious daughters. We are grieving deeply his loss. Also pray for Jim who had some minor surgery today and is recovering at home. He's in quite a bit of discomfort tonight.

Christmas Party
You are invited to dinner at Homebuilders' Christmas Party on December 3rd at the church. There will be a modest charge to cover the cost of the catered food. We will let you know that amount once we get a final count and know how much food to order. Childcare is available for babies through children in Grade 6, as part of Parent’s Night Out at the church. The cost for childcare is the donation of one new toy for the Jesus Christmas Room. Reservations are required for childcare and may be made by calling 594-5028. If you have not already responded, please let us know you can join us by this Sunday. We look forward to seeing you there.

LIFE TOGETHER: Why is it vital for me to connect to a church?
In our study this week, we look at these three points:
(1) IDENTIFY WITH THE CHURCH (ACTS 2:41-42)
41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about 3,000 people were added to them. 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers.
Learn about God, fellowship, eat and pray together.
The Greek word used in Acts 2:42 for “fellowship” is koinonia, meaning essentially a lifestyle. The word conveys a sense of communal participation in everything. Further, in some contexts, this same word is even used to refer to a tight-knit society. In essence, the word “fellowship,” as used in the text, means that the early Christians genuinely did life together. They didn’t interact with other church members only on Sunday mornings; they were actively involved in one another’s day-to-day lives. They were committed to one another, and stuck by one another in all circumstances.
(2) EXPERIENCE THE CHURCH (ACTS 2:43-47)
43 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44 Now all the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 So they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need. 46 And every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.
(3) COMMIT TO THE CHURCH (HEBREWS 10:23-25)
23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, 25 not staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
The author of our study writes:
“We should be faithful because Christ is faithful, and we should be concerned about each other because Christ is concerned with them.”
Take a moment before Thanksgiving and show someone in Homebuilders you are concerned about them (someone other than me since I know you are all concerned about me).
Remember, God who created everything is still in control of His creation. Keep praying for each other, caring for each other and take care of your families. John
