ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. This Sunday, January 16 –

a) The Pastor’s First Glance Class will be offered this Sunday morning, 9:45 to 10:45, in the Parlor. This is a two week class that will conclude on January 23.

b) Our January Bible Study 2011 for Adults continues at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The study is on Women in Leadership: What is leadership supposed to look like within the church? And what place, if any, do women have in leading and serving the community that follows Jesus? This year’s January Bible Study, led by Deron Spoo and Eric Costanzo, will make an honest examination of these questions in light of Scripture, church history, and current needs of the church. Join us on the next three Sunday evenings, January 16, 23 & 30.

2. On Thursday, January 20, The Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma will present a concert at South Tulsa Baptist Church beginning at 7:00 p.m. The concert repertoire celebrates “50 years in the making” and includes traditional anthems, hymn arrangements, and original songs commissioned for the group. There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome to attend this concert sponsored by South Tulsa Baptist Church, 10310 S. Sheridan Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133, 918-299-0904.

3. South Tulsa Multi-Site Demolition Day! This is your first chance to volunteer at the new multi-site campus of First Baptist Tulsa, 61st & Hwy 169. On Saturday, January 22, at 9:00 a.m., we will have a volunteer demolition day in which we will pull old carpet and haul away old furniture to make way for some future renovations. If you like getting dirty and like being useful, this may be a great opportunity for you. Join us!

4. A Women's Mentoring Orientation Coffee will be held on Sunday, January 23, in the Church Parlor, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Ladies, if you would like to be a mentor OR if you would like to have a godly woman mentor you, please come to this Coffee! Women will be matched in a mentoring relationship for six months with a commitment to get together every other week (as their own schedule allows). 5. FBC’s Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 23, at 5:00 p.m.

6. You are a giving church!

a) Our World Mission Offering Goal was $210,000 and the total received was $260,403.

b) We are three-fourths toward our “Leading the Way” Capital Campaign goal of $4,065,949. As of the end of December, we have received $3,065,059.

7. PROTOS courses for Spring will begin on Sunday, February 13, at *6:00 p.m., with the following three courses for Adults:

a) The Good, The Bad, and The-ology is a study that examines some of the basic tenets of theology that we may not clearly understand. Topics will include: Once Saved, Always Saved; All Sins are Equal; Asking Jesus into your Heart; Burning in Hell; Separation of Church & State, etc. This 10-week course will be taught by Eric Costanzo in Room 448 North.

b) The Big Picture: A Fast Moving Look at 20 Centuries of Christian History will look at the people, the places, and the events of the Christian era. The goal of this course is to give an understanding of our origins and give a deeper appreciation for our place in the history of God’s people. This 10-week course will be taught by Deron Spoo in room 410 North.

c) Momentum: Building the Kingdom Debt Free is a study that will change the culture of giving in our country – starting with the church, spreading to the community, and ultimately impacting the world. Momentum is an initiative to completely revolutionize the way we handle God’s money. It’s about creating a church filled with intense, passionate, sold out, cheerful givers. You will learn to truly be doers of the Word in the area of financial responsibility. The results are rewarding, life-changing, and lasting. This 13-week course will be taught by Bobby Hart and Steve Streeter, *5:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall and will conclude on May 22.
